In India, approximately 145,000 children under 15 are HIV-positive, with an estimated 4 million more affected by having an HIV-positive parent or orphaned by AIDS.
They endure daily survival challenges and systemic discrimination, deprived of basic human rights.
Positive Lamb Foundation stands for these children.
To give children living with HIV the best start in life, we provide access to education, healthcare, and opportunity, free from stigma. We support not only children but also their families and caretakers.
Together with local partners, we transition children from poverty to possibilities through family and community-led care models—so every child can thrive.

Every kid wants love and care. And they don’t get this—even at birth. They don’t have a sense of importance. These are the kinds of challenges they’re facing.”
Daily life and planning for the future are extremely difficult for the children living with HIV in India and their families. They have to contend with lacklustre official support and frequent denial of fundamental child rights such as education, healthcare, and housing due to stigma and discrimination. In addition, they typically suffer from a disproportionately low socio-economic status.
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), the most widely ratified human rights treaty in the world, states that ‘a child firstly has the right to life, survival and development; and secondly the right to an education that facilitates them to reach their full potential.’ Yet around a third of people in India held discriminatory views towards people with HIV (National Family Health Survey 2019–21), highlighting the need for additional services and support for children living with HIV.
The cornerstones of Positive Lamb’s organizational structure are building and nurturing partnerships. This lets us clearly understand the needs of these children and work with in-country organizations—ensuring the efficacy and longevity of our work.
Positive Lamb Foundation aims to bring about concrete and genuine change with these focus areas:
HIV is like untouchability in this society because of myths and misinformation. There is a gap in information, in awareness, and a gap in trust.”
I came to Rays for an education, medication and food after my father died of HIV when I was five and my mother couldn’t care for me. My achievement in life so far is my education—which I didn’t think I would receive.”
Since 2014, we’ve been working with our partners to bring positive change to children living with HIV in India. With your help we can do even more to help the kids behind the numbers…
Under the guidance of our board of directors, we reintroduce ourselves as Positive Lamb Foundation, celebrate charity status in England and Wales and firmly establish ourselves as here-to-stay for kids living with HIV in India.
We launch a 5-year pilot project with Anchal Charitable Trust in Delhi, committing to breaking the cycle of poverty and sex work for 20 children from a northeast Delhi slum through education, poverty relief and family-centred care.
Introduction of 12,720 school lunches a year (240 per child) for all of our educational scholarship recipients means that kids are guaranteed a healthy, nutritious and hot lunch before/after school 6 days a week.
After many years of effort, with the essential support of the legal team at EnerNext Counsel, we finally receive charitable status in Canada.

After 5 years of raising funds through jewellery sales, we decide to focus on what is most critical: getting kids the support and education they need. We close our jewellery operations and make space for the growth of Positive Lamb Foundation.
Scaling our main project, School Scholars, by 100% means that education scholarships are now all-inclusive—with tuition, books, bags, supplies, uniforms, and transport.
A difficult time was when 12-year-old Hanuman passes away due to medical mismanagement of a completely treatable infection, directly caused by healthcare discrimination because of his HIV status. This event solidifies our mission and dedication to the cause.
Bobbi meets Gurinder from Rays Aasha Ki Ek Kiran in Jaipur. He illuminates the systemic challenges and denial of basic rights children living with HIV face. It is unanimously decided to streamline our charitable efforts exclusively to this group.
From the success of our crowdfunding campaign, we launch a custom-designed, Indian-made range of silver jewellery. The profits from sales fund our projects.
Our second year reaches new communities in Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, serving children most in need.
The desire to make a positive impact brings the vision to life. Bobbi launches a crowdfunding campaign from the Indian Himalayas to raise money for needy children. Phil and Dani are quick to join in the mission.
Money isn’t the only thing that creates positive change. Do you have time or skills that could be of value to helping us sustain and grow our organization and impact? We are a small (and mighty) team running Positive Lamb Foundation and are always open to receive additional support in the areas of operations, fundraising and project fulfillment.
