Who we are

The processing of your personal data is carried out by or on behalf of Positive Lamb Foundation and Positive Lamb Foundation UK.

Positive Lamb Foundation is a registered charity in Canada (No.788784692RR0001) and Positive Lamb Foundation UK is a registered charity in England and Wales (No.1207884).

We refer to both organizations throughout this policy collectively as ‘Positive Lamb’ or ‘we’.

1. Notification of change of Privacy & Cookie Policy

This Privacy & Cookie Policy may change from time to time. Please visit this website section periodically in order to keep up to date with the changes in our Privacy Policy. We will notify you about significant changes by sending a notice to your primary email address, if you have agreed to receive email marketing messages from us, or by placing a prominent notice on our website.

2. Cookie Consent

2.1 Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior information. When you visit our website, we may collect information from  you automatically through cookies or similar technology.

2.2  By using our website, our social media pages (such as Facebook, YouTube and Instagram), subscribing to our services, and/or donating to us, you agree that, unless you have set your computer's browser to reject them, we can place the types of cookies set out below on your device and use that data in accordance with this policy.

2.3 In order to remember that you have accepted our use of cookies, we will place a temporary cookie to remember your consent for 3 months.

3. Info we collect

3.1 We (Positive Lamb Foundation and Positive Lamb Foundation UK) use the online fundraising platform known as Raisely, which is provided by Raisely Pty Ltd. When you provide us with information, such as your name, contact details, and other details relating to your engagement with us, either by entering that information onto the Raisely platform, or otherwise providing it to us, you acknowledge that we will use this system to collect, store, and use that information. If you do not provide us with this information, we may be unable to engage with you.

3.1.1 We encourage you to read and review the Raisely Privacy Policy which will help you understand how Raisely manages the personal information you provide to it through your use of our system.

3.2 We, Positive Lamb Foundation only collect personal data relevant to the type of transactions you have with Positive Lamb. For example, when you contact Positive Lamb to make a donation or sign up to our newsletters, or you telephone, email, text or write to Positive Lamb, or engage with Positive Lamb via social media channels, we may receive and retain personal information about you relevant to the type of transaction: this might include your name, email address, postal address, telephone or mobile number, or, in the case of donations, your bank account details and whether or not you are a taxpayer so that we can claim Gift Aid (England and Wales).

4. How we use Your Info

4.1 We will not use or disclose your personal information except when you have authorized us to do so, as provided in this privacy policy, or otherwise required or permitted bylaw. The information you provide us and/or that we hold and process in our system on your behalf will be used by us:

4.1.1 For administrative reasons, including:

  • “Service administration”, for example, relating to administering any donations you have made, or your tax status in Canada, England and Wales
  • to confirm receipt of donations (unless you have asked us not to do this), and to say thank you and provide details of how your donation might be used
  • keep an internal record of donations made and our communications with donors;
  • claiming gift aid on donations (UK donors only);
  • engage with you effectively, including informing you of your progress, responding to your enquiries, communicating with you, and providing you with information that you have requested;
  • ensure we do not send unwanted information to supporters or members of the public who have informed us they do not wish to be contacted; and
  • deliver the functionality of and provide us with support in using our system, and assist our software to function.

4.1.2 For marketing and fundraising reasons including:

  • keep in touch with supporters who have asked for help, resources, or guidance either with any aspect of Positive Lamb’s work, or to carry out fundraising or campaigning activities in support of Positive Lamb
  • send our email subscribers information about our projects, fundraising activities, appeals and news relevant to our work where we have their consent;
  • improve and enhance your experience as a community fundraiser for us;

4.1.3 For market research, including:

  • To analyse and improve the activities and content offered by the Positive Lamb website to provide you with the most user-friendly navigation experience. We may also use and disclose information in aggregate (so that no individuals are identified)for marketing and strategic development purposes
5. When and why we get in touch with you

5.1 We will only contact you for marketing where we have your consent to do so. This might, for example, send you donation receipts (tax deductible in Canada, England and Wales only), keep you up to date on our work, or let you know of ways in which you can support that work.

5.2 We will make it easy for you to tell us if you would like to receive marketing communications from us and hear more about our work, and we will not send you marketing material if you tell us that you do not wish to receive it. You can unsubscribe from our email updates at any time, by using the ‘unsubscribe’ link on our newsletters or by getting in touch with us directly.

5.3 We may also contact you with information in the following instances: 

  • Where you have committed to giving us a regular donation
  • Where you have notified us that you will be leaving a legacy to Positive Lamb

5.4 We will provide you with opportunities to tell us whether you’d like to continue receiving communications from Positive Lamb.

6. Will we share your personal information?

We will only use your information within Positive Lamb for the purposes for which it was obtained. Positive Lamb will not, under any circumstances, share or sell your personal data with any third party for their own marketing purposes, and you will not receive marketing from any other companies, charities or other organizations as a result of giving your details to us.

6.1 Legal Requirements

We will also comply with legal requests where disclosure is required or permitted by law (for example to government bodies for tax purposes or law enforcement agencies for the prevention and detection of crime, subject to such bodies providing us with a relevant request in writing).

6.2 Raisely Disclosure

We may disclose your information to Raisely Pty Ltd. so that they may provide us with support in using Raisely for fundraising and receiving donations.

7. Right to access information and request correction

It is important to us that the information we hold about you is accurate, complete, and up to date. If you are aware that this is not the case, you can access, update, and review your information held by us by logging into Raisely using your secure login details. Or if you would like us to correct your information please contact Positive Lamb Foundation.

8. Retention

We will hold any information we collect about you for as long as it is necessary for us to do so. For example, we will keep a record of donations subject to Gift Aid for at least seven years to comply with HMRC rules. If you terminate your engagement with us, we will retain information unless you request that we delete it from our system. Please submit requests to sayhello@positivelamb.com.

9. Changes

We reserve the right to change our privacy statement from time to time by publishing the revised privacy statement on the +Lamb website. Please check this privacy statement regularly for modifications and updates. If you continue to use our system or if you provide any personal information after we make changes to this privacy statement, this constitutes your acceptance of those changes and the updated privacy statement. This privacy policy was last updated on 18th July 2024.
